Ansonia Factory Condominium
Brooklyn, NY The adaptive reuse of the historic multi-building clockworks “Ansonia Factory” in the heart of the Park Slope brownstone neighborhood resulted in the conversion of three factory buildings to seven two-family townhouses and 34 condominium apartments in an expanded eight-story building, including a new two-story addition. A wing of the three story building was demolished, providing the floor area transfer for the two penthouse floors and creating open space for outdoor recreation space and gardens. The 75,000 square feet building complex and expansive gardens are located on a site spanning between two city streets. The conversion transformed a derelict industrial plant into the high point of the neighborhood.
